School Holiday Activities your kids can enjoy at home

With rising Covid-19 cases, kids may have to stay at home even during school holidays. School holidays are round the corner again, for International School students, its 24 - 31 October, 2020. For public school students, they can look forward to the festive Deepavali holidays from 13 - 16 November, 2020.

Here are some fun activities to do at home for kids of all ages. Younger kids may need some supervision.

Digital Activities

There are many digital activities kids can do at home. They can create music digitally and put their music on spotify, they can start a website to teach their favourite subject, conduct lessons through video conferencing or make videos for sharing. They can even create their own mobile apps or build cool things with electronics. If they need a little help getting started on these activities, sign them up for online classes on mobile app development

Nature Activities

Gardening, weeding, planting a plant and watching it grow, catching a caterpillar, feed and watch it turn into a butterfly. These are great activities for kids to get out of the house and into the sun, even though it may just be at the porch of your house. These activities help kids to understand nature and life cycle.

Math Activities

Did you know that coding can help improve math skills? When children debug a programme, they actually practice solving problems. If you are not sure where to start, you can check out KidoCode's free trial class on coding and the good thing is, you can do it from the comfort of your home as online free trial classes are available.

Science Activities

One of the easiest science activities you can do at home is making a rainbow. All you need is a mirror and a glass to make a rainbow on the wall. Place your mirror in a glass, then position it so that it catches the sunlight from outdoors and allow it to shine on the wall of a dark room.

Happy Holidays!
