Dato’ CQ Teo was the Founding Chairman of Sri KDU schools. He was widely respected for his visionary
leadership, integrity, and compassion. Dato’ Teo was also a philanthropist. He had a strong passion for good
education as an integral part of nation-building. This scholarship was established to continue and honour
Dato’ Teo’s legacy of nation building, in changing lives and enriching communities for a better world.
What does the Dato' CQ Teo Scholarship Cover
The scholarship covers 2 years of the SPM programme - Secondary 4 & 5. It covers the registration fee and annual tuition fee for Secondary 4 & 5. T&C applies.
Who can apply for the Dato' CQ Teo Scholarship
Students from the Malaysian curriculum who are aged 16 years old by 1 January 2022 with a household income of below RM120,000 per annum. They should demonstrate outstanding achievements in contributing to the Malaysian society with strong academic performance and a commendable level of oral and written proficiency in English. Extra-curricular accomplishments, character, creativity and the ability to
contribute to the life of the school will also be taken into account.
How to apply for the Dato' CQ Teo Scholarship
Starting 11 October 2021, students can now send in their applications for the Dato' CQ Teo Scholarship for the Secondary 4, 2022 intake. The deadline is 4pm, 5th November 2021. Shortlisted applicants will receive an email latest by 19 November 2021 to attend an assessment interview in mid November.
Supporting documents required for your application
- Applicant’s current photo (passport-sized)
- Applicant’s birth certificate and MyKAD
- Declaration of household income (below RM120,000.00 per annum), together with a certified copy of the latest EA and full B/BE Forms
- Description and proof of "Outstanding Achievement in Contributing to the Malaysian Society"
- Letter of recommendation from current school principal
- Latest semester results
- Results/proof of outstanding achievements (games, sport or other relevant areas)
- Proof of involvement in school/community activities.
