Create with paper

We can make a lot of homemade cards and crafts using paper. Below are some of those I did with my children. They are easy, fun and the results are beautiful. We created all sorts of things from paper flowers to paper boxes but the most precious ones of all would be the homemade cards we made. Those are better than any store bought ones.
We did these projects when the kids were around 5-7 years old. Sadly, now that they are at school we have less and less time to do these crafts. However, fortunately there are store bought craft sets for busy people. I still prefer our homemade ones but the sets you can buy at the stores are equally fun for the kids as they usually come with all kinds of art materials included.

Paper Crafts for Children Instructional Videos

When it comes to crafting, the best instructions comes in videos. Yes, I love watching and following the instructions on YouTube videos for various craft projects. Some of them are so easy to follow, the kids can watch and make the craft projects themselves. Of course, I have to filter the video first!

Homemade Bookmarks

This craft is easy to do and very useful if you have bookworms at home. We did these cheap homemade bookmarks a few years ago but my two bookworms at home are still using them now. Decorate your bookmarks anyway you like. It is up to you. We used stickers because that is the easiest for young kids. It is fun, pretty and useful. Check out the link below for details on how we did ours.

Homemade Father's Day Card using handprint

Homemade Father's Day Card. The kids like to send their father cyber e-cards because they enjoy picking those out. They come with animations and music which they love but those are so temporary. So I always make sure they make a card for their father on Father's Day. Here are one or two of the Father's Day cards we made. The first one was made using the kid's handprint while the second one was made using sponge and finger painting. Using handprint is a cute idea because the kids like to have a look at how small their hands used to be. We still take this card out every now and then to show them the size of their hands then.
No links for this because it is self-explanatory but you can drop me a comment if you want the link.

Homemade Father's Day Card using sponge and finger painting

We made this Father's Day card using a combination of sponge painting as well as finger painting. Finger painting is fun especially if done with flowers. Little Fingers dipped in paint and printed onto paper makes pretty flowers. :)

Paper Crepe Art

Here is a simple craft you can do with paper crepe. Use black construction paper as a base for the best effect. Draw any picture. Cut out the crepe paper into small pieces, roll them into tiny balls and paste. Simple isn't it? This car picture was done by my son. My girl tried to do a peacock but she never completed it, I'm afraid. So, pick easy pictures that can be done quickly before the kids get bored and lose their attention span. ;)

Paper Flower Craft

Flowers make from crepe paper or tissue paper look almost as lovely as the real thing. We made red crepe paper carnations and put them in the children's toy teapot to decorate their playroom. This paper flower craft is easy and not messy plus the end result looks lovely!
